Clémentine is a meticulous person, someone that invests a lot of time and attention on making sure that everything is perfect down to the last detail. She takes her time doing things the “right way”, making sure to review everything before revealing things to the public. She also weighs all her options, doing the math and anticipating every possible outcome before investing herself in one chosen path. This calculated approach does take away from her spontaneity, making her more reserved and guarded in comparison to the rest of her family. It also makes her a rational, rather than emotional person; a trait that takes some time getting used to when wishing to pursue any kind of relationship with her. Her strife for perfection is constant, both in her professional and personal life, the latter often suffering because of this particular desire.

But Haiti is in her blood, six years in the UK thusfar hasn’t polished off those Hispaniola edges. One character flaw in particular is Clémentine’s temperament. When things don’t go the way as planned or people act outside her anticipated vision, that temper of hers can flare up. It’s in moments like this that she most resembles her younger brother, adding volume and most of all verbal fury to her otherwise composed lifestyle. Clémentine also holds a grudge, being one of those people that forgives but never forgets and in the end will always get even. It’s unfortunately in her nature to be vindictive, offering little room for error with the people around her nor letting past grievances slide unpunished. This results in a subtle mean streak, best expressed by snarky comments or scandalous attempts to completely destroy a guilty culprit’s reputation.

But Clémentine has always featured strong maternal instincts, easily being the most responsible person in the entire Mackandal family. Even as a little girl, she took care of her younger brother raising him with a strong moral compass that for some reason her parents sourly lacked. When she became, Clémentine even tried to “save” her brother from her parents, seeking out a better life in the UK rather than being content with nothing in Port-de-Paix. Having failed to rescue him the first time, she became her brother’s legal guardian when a hurricane robbed them off their parents three years ago and she’d been acting like a mother rather than a sister to Adéwalé ever since. She demands discipline, laying down rules and expecting everyone in her circle to pursue greatness…

During her seventh year Clémentine was invited to join the Haiti National Quidditch team. After graduation, she continued one more year for her country’s national team before moving to the UK to join the Ballycastle Bats. She only got to play for one more season before getting badly injured in a Bludger related incident. Since the recovery was a hard process that took so long Clémentine lost her edge and had to retire from playing professional Quidditch.

It was during her physical therapy that Clémentine developed a fondness for cooking and decided on this new career path. She enrolled in the Muggle “Le Cordon Blue” culinary school in London for a three year program that she completed with flying colors. Evidently she began using magic to aid in the mise-en-place, enchanting her knives and pots. Now she’s working as a sous-chef in a Creole restaurant in StoneHallows while taking care of her younger brother still in his seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
